About ball valves
A ball valve has a ball with a bore through it. A quarter turn of the handle lines the bore up with the pipe to open the valve, or turns it across the flow to close. Ball valves are quick to operate and close tightly, which makes them popular for isolation on smaller lines.
GMC's threaded ball valves are two-piece designs with a CF8 body and ball and PTFE seal rings, as listed on the datasheets. Sizes are given in inches.

What is CF8?
CF8 is a cast stainless steel grade (ASTM A351), broadly the cast equivalent of 304 stainless steel.
Are ball valves suitable for throttling?
Standard ball valves are intended for on/off isolation. Holding them partly open can damage the soft seats over time.
