What ISO 9001 does and does not cover

ISO 9001 is a standard for quality management systems. A certificate confirms that an independent body has assessed how the company plans, controls, checks and improves its work, for the activities named in the scope.

It is not a product certification. It does not certify an individual valve's design, pressure rating or performance. For product requirements, refer to the design and testing standards listed on each datasheet, and ask GMC about inspection and test documents for your order.

How products are documented and tested

  • Every product page links to its GMC datasheet, which lists design and compliance standards, end connections and testing standards.
  • Testing standards on the datasheets include API 598, BS 6755 and EN 12266-1, depending on the product.
  • GMC's production process covers casting, machining, assembly and pressure testing.
  • State any inspection, witness testing or certificate requirements in your quotation request so they can be confirmed in writing.
