Answers about ordering, specifications, certification and samples. Product-specific questions are answered on each product page.
Quotations & ordering
How do I request a quotation?
Use the Get a Quote form, or the quote button on any product page, which adds that product for you. Tell us the size, pressure rating, quantity and any material or testing requirements. GMC will reply with a written quotation.
Can I request a quote for several products at once?
Yes. Add products to the comparison list, then choose "Request a quote for these products", or add several lines on the quotation form.
Is a website quote request an order?
No. A request is an enquiry only. Prices, delivery and terms are confirmed in GMC’s written quotation, and an order is placed only when you accept it.
Products & specifications
What do PN and Class mean?
PN (for example PN-16) is the European pressure designation used with EN and BS flanges; PN-16 corresponds to 16 bar at reference temperature. Class (for example Class 150) is the ASME designation used with ASME B16.5 flanges. Allowable working pressure depends on the material and temperature, so always check the rating for your conditions.
Where do the specifications on this website come from?
Every specification comes from GMC’s published datasheets. The original PDF is attached to each product. Where duplicate datasheets disagree or a value looks like a misprint, the value is marked for confirmation.
What do EN-GJL-250 and EN-GJS-500 mean?
They are European material designations. EN-GJL-250 is grey cast iron with a minimum tensile strength of 250 MPa. EN-GJS-500 is spheroidal graphite (ductile) iron with a minimum tensile strength of 500 MPa.
What is the difference between cast iron and ductile iron valves?
Ductile iron contains graphite in nodular form, which gives it much higher strength and ductility than grey cast iron. Ductile iron bodies are often chosen for higher pressure ratings or where shock loading is a concern.
Quality & certification
Is GMC Valves ISO 9001 certified?
General Manufacturing Concern (Pvt.) Ltd. holds an ISO 9001:2015 certificate for its quality management system, covering the manufacture, assembly, inspection, testing and supply of valves and flanges. ISO 9001 certifies the management system, not individual products. See the Certifications page for the certificate details.
Which standards are GMC valves tested to?
Each datasheet lists its testing standards, for example API 598, BS 6755 or EN 12266-1. You can ask for specific test requirements in your quotation request.
Samples
Can I request a sample?
You can request samples of eligible products using the sample request form. Availability, quantities and any charges are confirmed by GMC for each request before dispatch.
